Course Content This course provides the skills and knowledge to be able to handle cardiac emergency situations. It includes:
  • Introduction to First aid principles
  • Assessing a cardiac emergency situation
  • Airway and breathing management
  • Performing chest compressions
  • Administering rescue breaths
  • Resuscitation techniques
  • Using a defibrillator (AED)
ANAPHYLAXIS $55
Course Name: 22300VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis
Course Duration Full Course: 3 hours Flexible Delivery: 2 hours + Pre Course work
Course Content This course provides the skills and knowledge to be able to manage severe allergic reactions. It includes:
  • Definitions of allergic reaction and anaphylaxis and recognition of signs and symptoms.
  • Responsibilities of organisations and individuals in relation to allergic reaction and anaphylaxis.
  • Risk minimisation and management strategies for anaphylaxis emergencies.
  • First aid management for a severe anaphylactic reaction.
BASIC EMERGENCY LIFE SUPPORT (LEVEL 1) $90
Course Name: HLTAID002 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
Course Duration Full Course: 6 hours Flexible Delivery: 4 hours + Pre Course work
Course Content This entry-level course is designed for people who want to learn the key elements of first aid. It will arm you with the life saving skills that you need to perform first aid in an emergency situation. This course incorporates the CPR course. It includes:
  • Introduction to First aid principles
  • Assessing an emergency situation
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation techniques (CPR)
  • Infection control and First Aid for minor wounds
  • Anaphylaxis emergencies
  • Asthma emergencies
  • Control of major external bleeding
  • Communicating details of an incident
  • Debriefing and evaluation of response to critical incidents
PROVIDE FIRST AID (SENIOR / LEVEL 2) $135
Course Name: HLTAID003 Provide First Aid
Course Duration Full Course: 7.5 hours Flexible Delivery: 6 hours + Pre Course work
Course Content Senior / Level 2 first aid is ideal for first aiders at work, local sporting clubs, schools or the family. Covering a broad range of topics, this practical, interactive course ensures that you will be able to handle emergency situations, injuries and illnesses. Whether you are a beginner or refreshing your skills, this course is for you. This course incorporates the CPR and Basic Emergency Life Support Level 1 courses. It includes:
  • Assessing an emergency situation
  • Airway and breathing management
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques
  • Automated External Defibrillation
  • Management of the unconscious casualty
  • Medical conditions including cardiac, diabetes, epilepsy
  • Infection control and first aid for minor wounds
